Carrowaystick Cottage

 

Carrowaystick Cottage, Glenmalure, Co Wicklow.

 

This is a very picturesque area of Wicklow. The Carrowaystick walking loop is a strenuous 7-8 hour walk, taking in the waterfall, mountain and cottage of the same name. The cottage is well photographed, with the little brook in the foreground. A long exposure achieves the cotton candy look on the flowing water and gives the sense of movement. A beautiful scene at any season.

A January sunset at Hook head, Wexford

My first pictures of 2017. I forced myself out of bed to get the first sunrise of the new year, only to be disappointed by a bank of cloud on the horizon. I went for a spin and ended up in Rosslare strand. I decided I had better not go home empty handed so I did some long exposures and was quite happy with my first shots of 2017.

“Ballineeskar Beach”

Ballineeskar Beach, home of ‘Saving Private Ryan’ where the first [and best] twenty minutes of the film was shot in June 1997.

‘Long Exposure’ photography is mostly what I am known for. I “almost always” try to get the LE in whatever shoot I am on. This is an image of Whiterock Beach shot at f/13 –  1.3 sec exp and ISO 200.

Powerscourt Waterfall

Powerscourt Waterfall in Co Wicklow. A sight to behold at any time but there was quite a bit of rainfall in recent times and it was that bit better,. This of course is only the side of it and I have the other side in an earlier post…enjoy.
