Ducketts Grove

This is Ducketts Grove, Co Carlow. Home to the IRA in the 1920’s and now a visitor attraction. The yellow fields is the main attraction for me as a photographer. It’s a fine place and has a tour guide, tea rooms and would be a nice place to visit, however I grabbed some shots today between the very heavy hailstorms. As soon as we left the area the weather was beautiful.

  1. Lovely picture.Do you know anything about when the IRA were there or how long they stayed or anything like that? Sorry it’s just there’s not much on the internet about it.

    1. Hi E.D
Sorry I don’t. The first time I heard of it was the day I took the image last summer. I read it in a small guide to the place. Sorry I couldn’t be of any help. Thanks for looking.
